Ikaros Publications was founded in 1980 as a publishing company specializing in aeronautics. Since our company's founding, our original magazine "Airline" has been published monthly, covering the commercial aviation field with current and accurate information both domestically and internationally. This long running magazine has been endorsed for accuracy and reputability by pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, and the airlines worldwide. Our publishing division has since then expanded by publishing Stewardess Magazine, Para World, J-Wings, Tsuyaku Honyaku Journal, and Sky Sports all of which are enjoyed by many readers. Our second publishing department is responsible for publishing a wide array of non-scheduled books covering various topics. We are currently responsible for publishing over 100 titles annually including books on commercial aviation, military, wine, meteorology, and welfare just to mention a few. This division continues to grow on a daily basis, with additional plans to augment our current selection in the near future. Since Ikaros Publications specializes in a special field, we have understood the importance of launching and maintaining an educational institution. This idea led to our establishment of an education department which currently manages ten courses in four different subject fields. Majority of our students rely on our courses to prepare for their upcoming entrance examination to an institute of higher learning; but we also offer classes in patent translation and aeronautical telecommunications which attracts people with various backgrounds. Our primary goal with this division is to prepare people to work in an international environment, whether in the sky or on the ground. Reserved from the glamour of our publishing and education is our shop department which plays a vital role in our organization. Although our products are circulated throughout most major bookstores around Japan, Ikaros Publications is proud to present two shops the public can visit to select our products "hands on." Our shop department is not only responsible for store operation, but also for stocking, pricing, and planning sales campaigns. With the introduction of internet shopping, customers have enjoyed the luxury of purchasing the same products found in our store with the click of a mouse. With the help of many people, both within and outside the company, Ikaros Publications continues to grow as a leading publishing company. As public demand grows we have plans to cultivate new areas in hopes of introducing various cultures worldwide and help link human potentials.
